This year a friend of mine has entered his film Bumblin' and has very kindly asked me to compose the music. It is the sad tale of two idiots who accidently flatten a bee with a can of larger, only to suffer the consequences as the bee takes its sweet and commical revenge.
Lee Price, the film maker manages to make these short films for tiny budgets. This one undercut last years entry by ten pounds, makign the budget an eye watering FORTY POUNDS! Despite this, the films are sharp and comical and well made, and I had great fun composing a completely over-the-top score to it.

A couple of really nice, fun stuff going on at the moment.
On the jingle front I have had some interesting challenges. Standing out the most were jingles forĀ City Fencing and Park and Ride for Leicestershire Council - yeah, councils do some good stuff from time to time! More on those in a minute.
Other stuff includes some of my music will be appearing on the game Wurm Online from next monday, and I have also been putting together some atmopheres for forests, lakes, mines and so on to give the game a bit of a lift.
Talking of games, I am also starting to look at putting together my own MMO. Tentatively called Foundation this will be a very long project indeed, but also very interesting. More on that as time goes on.
Back on the music front, I have been asked by a runner up at last Years Virgin Media Shorts film competition to write the music for this years entry - a very nice honour, and I am working on that now. Also writing some middle eastern music for Crimson Cats, a company that records spoken word CDs and run by a long time client of mine - we worked together on some Sherlock Holmes dramas back in the ... well, a long, long time ago!

With a nice little trickle of work coming through in December and January, I was wondering what you would call a bunch of jingles. Herd doesn't do it for me, nor does Pride, though I am proud of them, of course. Perhaps a Jangle of Jingles? Bucket of Jingles? Well, whatever you want to call them, here is a right little gaggle of them!

To compliment the new site I have revisited my main ad show reels and also added one for the work I have been doing on the MMORPG game Wurm Online.
The two new jingle show reels, Up Beat and Laid Back, each contain excerpts from around 20 of my jingles. I have tried to not just show the range of work I have done in recent times, but hopefully have given enough variation to get you thinking about what you would like for your next project.
If you want to hear jingles in their entirety, the Recent Jingles link now goes to a page where you can play examples directly, rather than having to go to a details page. As this is rather long it may take a few moments to load.
The new show reels can be heard using the flash player in the left column, or downloaded where shown. Hope you love them! |

There comes a time when you just got to have a change. For some it is dumping their entire wardrobe and starting afresh (bet that one has changed in the current economic climate), for others it is getting a new boss, or just repainting the old one.
And me? Well, I get fed up of my websites!
The best one I did for the jingles was probably my first. But since I cant find it, that has kind of ended that argument. My next couple weren't too bad (the art deco radio had something going for it). But my last one was just plain dull. I had this stupid idea that I was too old for silly. And that was silly in itself.
So here is my latest version. Subtle, huh? |
