Music has a unique place in modern media - whether that is a documentary, a commercial, a film or a web site. If you break down most media into constituent bits, each part is playing a very distinctive role - the voice delivers the script, the picture or soundscape sets the scene, the effects supply the dramatic or simply the "Sale Now On" punch line.
But the music does everything. It can set the mood, fill the space, deliver the message, convey confidence or fear, articulate the brand, tell the story - it can do anyone of these, or it can do the whole lot at once.
If you want music to do things for you, contact us now, and read the information given on these pages.

This is a newer area for me, though I have little excuse as I have been deeply involved with the Internet since the early nineties.
By original venture was writing theme and sketch music for an online financial radio station called Moonrock Radio. This was eight years ago and we were way ahead of our time. Too ahead, it turned out ... ah, the memories!
Recently, I have been writing music for an online game (MMO) called Wurm Online.

In this line of work you get to write rather a lot of jingles! And you write them for every shape and size company.
Jingle writing is something I did off and on for many years before I made composing my full time occupation in more recent times. One of my more prolific periods was in the late Eighties, early Nineties, when I wrote many for Sunrise Radio and CNFM (now Q103) in Cambridge. I have to admit I have lost and forgotten most of those, though I was horrified to note that one I wrote for Sunrise is still running! (I cant even remember what it sounds like now) The credit list is almost nonsense now, but I have written some that I remember below. There are many, many others, but you get the idea.

I have been writing music for programmes for many years, and much of it I am very proud of. The ones that stand out most are probably the music I did for a series of 24 Sherlock Holmes for the very individual Michael Bartlett (now owner of the equally individual Crimson Cats) and music I wrote for Rocket Men (ITV and Discovery) and Bigfootville, both for Blue Book Films. But there were others, for instance an beautiful animation for Philips Electronics called The Tree, and music written for Pathé News, that also were wonderful to work on. The following list is far from complete, and some of the references are very dated, but it gives and idea of the range I have attempted over all this time.

I have been writing music for programmes for around 15 years now and it is a side of my work that I particularly enjoy. I have been blessed with clients who have given me pretty much carte blanche to fully express what they are saying with their pictures with my music.

"Extraordinary how potent cheap music is!" Noel Coward, 1899-1973
I have been writing and producing music for commercials since the eighties, working for both national and local clients. It is fun to do, surprisingly satisfying and, I believe, gives the advertiser a real edge.
- Jingles make your product memorable
- They add consistency to your campaign
- They help to put you on the map
The size of your company is irrelevant when it comes to the effectiveness of a jingle. Jingles are great levelers; properly written and produced with the highest production values they work to bring your great product to your target audience.
