Studio 24 Revisited PDF Print E-mail

Ah, so you have been busy, Mr Bond!

Okay, so there is this bloke called Giles in Cambridge who's imagination is, well, over there somewhere. He came up with this mad concept of a really annoying jingle for the Website Agency Studio where a listener writes in compaining that it is annoying, so Studio 24 do a posh one, which she thinks is better, and then just as everyone is happy Studio 24 do another where it still has some posh bits but reverts to the original annoying tune.

Have I lost you? Well, probably - it took Giles several attempts to get the concept across to me so I could start working on it. Read on to hear the result and catch up with the rest of us!

Music for a Great Short Film PDF Print E-mail

This year a friend of mine has entered his film Bumblin' and has very kindly asked me to compose the music. It is the sad tale of two idiots who accidently flatten a bee with a can of larger, only to suffer the consequences as the bee takes its sweet and commical revenge.

Lee Price, the film maker manages to make these short films for tiny budgets. This one undercut last years entry by ten pounds, makign the budget an eye watering FORTY POUNDS! Despite this, the films are sharp and comical and well made, and I had great fun composing a completely over-the-top score to it.

So, click here and GO AND VOTE FOR IT!

You will need to register. And you should check out the other entries too as they get uploaded - there is a lot of great talent out there!

Wow. this is fun! PDF Print E-mail

A couple of really nice, fun stuff going on at the moment.

On the jingle front I have had some interesting challenges. Standing out the most were jingles for  City Fencing and Park and Ride for Leicestershire Council - yeah, councils do some good stuff from time to time! More on those in a minute.

Other stuff includes some of my music will be appearing on the game Wurm Online from next monday, and I have also been putting together some atmopheres for forests, lakes, mines and so on to give the game a bit of a lift.

Talking of games, I am also starting to look at putting together my own MMO. Tentatively called Foundation this will be a very long project indeed, but also very interesting. More on that as time goes on.

Back on the music front, I have been asked by a runner up at last Years Virgin Media Shorts film competition to write the music for this years entry - a very nice honour, and I am working on that now. Also writing some middle eastern music for Crimson Cats, a company that records spoken word CDs and run by a long time client of mine - we worked together on some Sherlock Holmes dramas back in the ... well, a long, long time ago!

What is the Collective Noun for Jingles? PDF Print E-mail

With a nice little trickle of work coming through in December and January, I was wondering what you would call a bunch of jingles. Herd doesn't do it for me, nor does Pride, though I am proud of them, of course. Perhaps a Jangle of Jingles? Bucket of Jingles? Well, whatever you want to call them, here is a right little gaggle of them!

Click the read more link to, well, read more and hear the new batch!

New Showreels PDF Print E-mail

To compliment the new site I have revisited my main ad show reels and also added one for the work I have been doing on the MMORPG game Wurm Online.

The two new jingle show reels, Up Beat and Laid Back, each contain excerpts from around 20 of my jingles. I have tried to not just show the range of work I have done in recent times, but hopefully have given enough variation to get you thinking about what you would like for your next project.

If you want to hear jingles in their entirety, the Recent Jingles link now goes to a page where you can play examples directly, rather than having to go to a details page. As this is rather long it may take a few moments to load.

The new show reels can be heard using the flash player in the left column, or downloaded where shown. Hope you love them!
